I imagined that the filling would be softer, but it's actually a bit hard. As for muffling the sound, it didn't quite work that way... it just holds the dog's ears down, it doesn't actually muffle the sound.

Hoping these work for my sound-sensitive dog. They’re a bit big — even with the velcro tightened all the way, there’s still a gap between his head and the muffs when he’s resting, as you can see in the pictures. I might sew the velcro in a different spot for a better fit. Based on other reviews, the smaller size would have been way too small. I wouldn’t let my dog swim in these unless they fit snugly around the ears, otherwise they’d get just as wet. I’d also made sure they don’t get too heavy when wet, since that could strain your dog’s head and be dangerous in the water.

The smallest size fits well for dog that weights 6 kg. He doesn't like it but it's better than being scared of noises.
