If you’re like me and wanted to see what all the hype is about baitcasters, this is the reel for you. i still hate baitcasters (adjust brakes, adjust tension knob, feather the spool, confirm the hypotenuse with every lure change? no thank you) & will never fish with one, but i spent less than $7 to truly try one out & and i ain’t mad about that. i now have a fun backyard toy. also, another reviewer said the magnetic brakes don’t work because the spool is aluminum (not a magnetic metal), but they do in fact work due to lenz’s law (magnetic field + aluminum conductor. look it up; i’m not your dad).

I liked the reel, it's an excellent cost-benefit product. Apparently it does scrape the bearing that collects the line a bit, but I've already used it on some large reels and it held up strong and sturdy!
